I work in a clinic where we treat genital warts on a daily basis. I don't reccomend self treating unless using a prescription cream called Aldara. But if the warts are too severe Aldara probably won't work--it's a very gradual process. We use an acid treatment that seems to be very effective. The acid need to be applied by a doc every two weeks until they are gone. If they return then seek the treatment ASAP. New studies have found that you can be rid of genital warts if you haven't had an outbreak in 7-24 months. Hope this helps your friend. Planned Parenthood does the acid treatment. Remember he must be consistent with the treatment. He can't let it get bad between treatments--every 2 weeks is best if using the acid.

Firstly, genital warts are super contagious. I had them at one time and I don't have sexual intercourse without using a condom but it was passed on through close skin to skin contact, that's how bad it is. You can get rid of them but it takes time and there are a few remedies which help but you have to remember that whilst something may be effective for one person, it may not work for you. Firstly, you can wait for them to disappear. This normally takes about 3 months (no sexual intercourse during this period) and you have to be quite a healthy person because your immune system plays a big part in it also. Secondly, there's a process called 'cryotherapy' aka 'freezing'. this feels uncomfortable but should not be painful. you can also go to the doctor and he will give you this liquid thing that you apply then wash off once it feels itchy. you could try more than one thing at one time too, freezing and some wart cream, there's no harm in doing this. they are not always prone to come back, if you had quite a lot in the first place, then you are more susceptible to get it again. whatever you choose to do, good luck. its not a nice thing to have!!

A poem 4 ur friend
''ALL I EVER WANTED WAS GENITAL WARTS''
I’ve had carpet burns on both me knees, nearly caught a sexually transmitted disease, but all I ever wanted was genital warts.
I’ve slept in me own damp patches you know got piss'ed an made love to a girl I don’t know I’ve been loved an hated and tied to a chair sexually soddemized by a girl with red hair an wrongly accused of having an affair wish that affair was with you.
I’ve sat there with a girl snorting Peruvian flake then goosed her senseless when she was off her cake it all boils down make no mistake that the orgasm she had was fcuking fake but all I wanted was genital warts.
Been given the kiss off life when I wasn’t dead been given advice when it should of been head was gutted when I broke me bed all it did was make me want genital warts.
I had a fit girl who was erratic but her coke had been bashed with daz automatic every time we went out she was ecstatic but id rather have had you.
I’ve had more girls than you’ve had hot dinners had loads of bad luck since I was a beginner in my life there can only be one winner the man who walks away with you.
so save some genital warts.

I have this condition and im having Cryotherapy for it.....having them frozen. I know you said that he has tried this method but did he have more than one treatment? Im only saying that because im having it done weekly and have been doing for the last month...they have greatly reduced and whats left is hardly noticable. Anyway ive been told that Warts are very stubborn and all treatment availible to treat them usually takes several sessions as opposed to a quick cure. Sorry i couldnt suggest something new that he hasnt used before but just wondered if the Cryotherapy was worth another try with several sessions of it? Goodluck, hope he gets it sorted!!

No there are no home remedies, he has to see a doc for treatment. His wife is going to notice,if they have sex (vaginal or anal) before he is clear she will get them too. Then she will have a dramatically higher chance of cervical cancer as well as genital warts. Ain't that fun? Unless he can afford to send her on a 6 month cruise with her mom so she is away during his treatments, he has a problem on his hands. First he needs to see his doc, then come clean with his wife. Lastly, the next time he decides to walk on the wild (or on the tamer) side use a condom!

Oh yeah? 'A FRIEND' has genital warts huh? are you sure its not you?
Incidently there is no cure for the wart virus. Once you have it you have it for good. All you can do is treat the outbreaks when they occur with Condyline solution which you can get from your chemist

Depends where it is. If it is not on the genital itself, I would say compound W. Warts will stay in your system forever unfortunately because it is a virus, so they may reappear. But compound W until its gone will make it go away for not.
This may cause irritation and hurt a little, but will heal fast.

the only place you can get treatment is from the GUM clinic, hospital etc. there are no over-the-counter medicines for genital warts. HPV is the name of the virus and there are hundreds of types of this virus which are harmless. genital warts are harmless and are just lumps of skin. thing is, they are extremely contagious, you don't even have to have sex to get them, jus skin to skin contact! its jus unfortunte that we can never truly get rid of them, as the virus stays with us. although some ppl never get them again once they've been treated, it only takes someone whose had them to get stressed or be ill and there they are yet again! all you can do is go back to the clinic and once they've gone, u've got to keep healthy to hopefully keep them at bay.

Is the "friend of yours! really you? You can be honest, we're all friends here!
I think it would be worth seeking out a specialist on the subject, try searching the internet for one in this country. While there are often doctors that can help locally with most conditions, for a few cases you may have to search nationally for the best in that area (no pun intended).
