alright, heres my idea:
i dont want a huge party at a hotel so im having 15-20 people come over to my house and we'll chill on my deck from like 7-10. the theme is red and silver and the food is mock cosmos, tomatoe and mozarella skewers, and i dont know what else. maybe mini grilled cheese sandwiches? I NEED A BETTER IDEA! i had a smaller party on my deck last year with only about 10 people and everyone was telling me how much fun they had, so thats why im kinda doing the same thing this year. everybodys dressing casual except for me, im wearing a summer dress to stand out more, you know? the favors are gonna be red chinese takeout boxes filled with candy and there might be disposable cameras at the table.

do you think my idea is good? and i need help with the food too. also, do you think its wierd if i have like 16 girls and 3 guys?

thanks for your help

*BTW* my birthday is in august

my party isnt a chinese theme... the only thing that has to do with china is the take out boxes for the favors. but theres gonna be lots of red balloons, white christmas lights strung along my deck, and personalized m+ms

i like the ideas so far though, thanks so much

sounds good so far! I would for sure have more to eat than that tho! I would do some more finger foods for your guests to graze on. Like shrimp with coctail sauce, and stuff that will make them feel like there having a meal but not really a sit down thing. I would try to get more guys, or the three that are there will sit in a corner and feel ocward. I would also put something in the box for them to remember the party and your birthday like maybe a small magnet frame that they can put a picture of you and them in the frame. SO if you do have the cameras make sure you get pictures with everyone! OR something that they can hold on to!! Sounds better than what I had. Have fun and happy early bithday!

tell your dad you'll pay him back. sweet 16's are hugeeee money makers. say you invite 40 people and the yeach brin you $10 that right there is $400. the biggest thing you have to worry about is the place. try and research places by you, and then for food maybe you could have a later party so it's after dinner and you don't have to get people actual food. maybe you could do a candy land theme. candy is on sale now becasue of halloween so stock up! and for a dj, if worse came to worse you could rent speakers and make a playlist on your ipod.. hope this helps:-)

i think it's a good idea. theme parties are always alot of fun! i probably would invite a few more guys to even things out but it's your party so it's completely up to you of course.
well as for red food, there is a rice dish which is red because it is made with tomatoes but is very tasty also. ask your mum, maybe she knows!
you could have red salsa and corn chips as a starter - red and yellow theme!
You could add red capsicum onto those skewers also.
happy birthday for august anyway

the party sounds fun. I think yu should invite more guys, as jsut 3 might feel a little silly and if one can go the others may not go either.........add a few more to your list.

Make some fortune cookies and put in Fun sayings and verses, some that are more personal to your group of friends, you could also have bild your own pizzas and grill them on the grill they are so yummy that way!!! have a pizza bar and all your friends can build their favorit kind, then have your dad or an adult grill em for a bit and DIG in!!

You are off to a great start. Um can do any thing you want, you should invite more boys so the girls don't feel over rated. Also you 16 birthday is spouse to be the most memorable time. Do you have a favorite movie you can use that theme. like i did for mine. the ideas are endless if you put your mind to it. Good luck

Glad to hear your birthday is in Aug!!! Otherwise too cold!!

I would continue your Chinese theme and get mini egg rolls and some take out fried rice. It goes A LONG way!! Try Oriental Trading company for decorations. Pretty cheap and they have nice things.
