My 4 yr. old daughter has normal fasting bg levels, but postprandial levels 1-2 hours after a meal often go as high as 280. She has had 5 readings over 200 in the past 4 days. Her bg numbers usually return to normal within 3-4 hours however. Is this indicative of diabetes?

Yes, a postprandial glucose level that high is indicative of diabetes if it's repeatable (which it sounds like it is) you should talk to your doctor about getting started on treatment, as it is likely that the problem will progress to elevated fasting glucose levels as well.

I would think anything approaching 200 would be too high. Sure sounds like she's getting it to me. I would get her off milk and dairy asap. Here's why:
