I have had severe hiccups that last three to four days. Nothing would get rid of them. I was watching emergency er and a women had the same problem (except she had them for weeks). The only thing that worked that i tried and also worked on me was applying a couple of finger tips right above your eye brows and pressing down with moderate pressure. There is a nerve that passes through there and it took them right away. I still continue to use it. Hold them there for about a minute or so. If it doesnt work the first time try moving your fingers slightly to a different spot. Hope it helps.

This is how I ALWAYS cure mine... the bad part is, is that its hard to explain. but I'll try...

This may seem crazy to you, but it works for me.

1. Feel the muscle/organ directly below your rib cage (your diaphram). It has air trapped inside of it, & there is a muscle in it that is trying to push the air out. Thats whats making you hiccup. (note: This air does need to be pushed out.)

2. Push your diaphram in and up, like you are trying to push the air up-out of your diaphram (what you want to do is burp it out manually I guess you can say). Continue this throughout the rest of this process.
(note: The burp isnt supposed to be a big burp. Slow deep silent little burps are what do the trick. You may not even consider it a burp, rather a release of trapped air.)

3. Inhale deeply, the same way you would at the doctors when your doctor uses a stethescope (trying to keep air in your lungs helps position your diaphram so you can "manually burp easier")

4. Try to burp- by swallowing the same time you push your hand up your diaphram. Also, push with your diaphram muscle, now that you know where it is.

5. Continue this process. Inhale when you need to.

Breathing patterns work the best.
Like:

Inhale
Push-up/in
Push-up/in
Push-up/in
Exhale
Push-up/in
Push-up/in
Push-up/in
Inhale
Push-up/in
Push-up/in
Push-up/in
etc.

(each push is between 0.5 sec and 1 sec long )

also do step 4 randomly inbetween your pushing. (i average about two step 4's every three pushes) It doesnt matter when you throw in the step 4, just as long as you are doing it (because this is the main part of getting you to burp.)

Hope this helped.

it is a spasmodic contraction of the diaphragm muscle. It almost always can be cured by increasing carbon dioxide. The easiest way to do that is to breath into a plastic bag. (have someone there just in case you pass out, but as soon as you remove the plastic bag, you will wash the carbon dioxide out and be all right) I have done this myself about a dozen times and usually there isn't anyone there, and I haven't had a problem. Usually the hiccups stop as soon as you begin to get dizzy.

This will probably sound weird, but I swear by it. It works EVERY single time for me. Take a spoonful of pickle juice from a dill pickle jar. Now, bend down and try to turn your head side wards as much as possible. Sip the pickle juice. That's it.

For some reason, taking the pickle juice crooked or side wards helps. Try it, it works.
