Ok, so for my birthday I'm having an "Alice in Wonderland" theme at a local hotel in a large room. Not only do I have a lot of room ot work with, but I also have a budget. around 250$ to 300$ to spend on it, with the room already paid. It isn't for awhile, but I'm planning ahead, I want a dJ too and the cheapest one I can find is 125$, unless I get a friend to do it. Anyways, I need decor and entertainment ideas. I ahve the basics, tophats, lots of lights, tiaras, a ton of tule, and HUGE plastic teacups. It's kind of Crazy.... But i'm still running low on ideas, anything unique and interesting is welcomed!

Have stuffed rabbits with clocks around their necks, stuck around the room. Put queen of hearts cards on all the tables. Find lots of cute and kooky stuff to make the room seem magical/ yet weirdish like when Alice was falling into the wonderland

Cool idea!!! Is it a birthday party or something?

What about going ot the Disney Store and getting little figurines of Alice? You definately need some stuffed rabbits and clocks. Since it is after Valentines Day, could you maybe get some "clearence" heart cut outs/garland? What about going to the dollar store and getting little hand mirrors for the tables?

God I want to come!!!!! Good luck!!!

I would make a giant mushroom out of cardboard. You can buy those giant cards at Card & Party factory. Make a cheshire cat. Do little mini-cupcakes and decorate each one fancy and place on plates up and down the table with little signs that say "Eat Me" on them. Get tiny bottles with corks - like they sell at Wal-Mart in the Wedding decorations aisle (craft dept) - fill with kool-aid for pretty colors and put a sign of them that says "Drink Me". Teapots with flowers coming out of the top would be pretty for centerpieces. Get one of those indoor croquet sets and play croquet. Get cardboard (from a refrigerator box maybe) and paint to look like a giant "Alice and Wonderland Book" - set it up with maybe a park bench in front of it and some plants (and use it as a photo ops place) - you could even have a digital camera to take pictures of everyone posing in front of the giant book. Dress up a stuffed pig in a baby outfit and put in a carriage or cradle.

I think you have a great idea for a theme party. I would serve sliced portobellos in zip sauce as a app. Chef John

decks of cards...and chess sets...you make huge cards for backdrops...

stuffed rabbits...big cute-out smiles...pocketwatches....large mushroom cutouts

skip the dj and make your own cd mixes to play...ask a friend to be in charge of changing the music..or rent a 5 or 7 cd player and just let it play!

Dont' forget an "un-birthday" cake to serve to guests. Make them feel special, too. Trust me, they'll talk forever about little things like that.
