Depends on where you go. The simple fact is you acknowledged you weren't the legal owner AND they had no way of knowing that was actually the owner's signature. For liability reasons they gave you hell. What if you were lying? The fact is people have dropped off other people's dog out of spite before. Some only take intakes on certain days or during certain hours -Some only by appointment -Some don't take owner surrenders because they are so full -Some have an intake fee some don't -Some don't do owner requested euthanasia. -Generally speak city/town/state run pounds have between a 48-72 hour adoption window on surrenders. Otherwise its put down.
