Here is my scenario: Over 5 years ago I received unprotected oral sex from a woman. That night i got so paranoid from looking at early hiv symptoms on the internet and ended up having minor night sweats. For about 2 weeks following the incident i had minor diahrrea and fatigue. The only other symtpoms that i have noticed in the last 5 years is a on/off pain under my right rib cage, and some slight yellowing of my eyes. I have not had the flu, swollen lymph nodes, ulcers, or any type of rash since this incicdent.
So, what are the chances of getting hiv from this? And, do the symptoms i've mentioned sound like HIV?
I know symptoms are no way of telling, but any input into this would be great. Thanks

The probability of catching it from one incident is low, lower still from receiving oral sex.
Any reaction you had the same night was nerves or psychosomatic. The diahrrea and fatigue would have been a little suspicious, but it sounds too soon. Most symptoms don't occur right away, but wait for an incubation period - the period for the virus to multiply to significant numbers.
Get tested, if you are worried. It rarely cost much at the health department.

Okay, so you received oral sex from a woman? She put your genitals in her mouth? Or you put her genitals in your mouth? (Sorry for being so blunt). If it is the first scenarion, then there is a one in a billion chance you got it that way. Saliva can't transmit HIV. There are reasons for this that I'm not going to get into. If it's the second one, then there is a small chance that you got it. But, you don't even know if she's HIV positive. You're right, the symptoms of HIV are very general and rarely pinpoint on whether you actually got the disease. I think your symptoms are caused be the fact that you were very nervous and then you got symptoms. But, they're probably pshycological. Go and get tested if you are that worried. After five years, the test should immediately be conclusive. If it's negative, then you're negative. If you're positive, it should come up right away and you don't need a follow up test. Good luck!

you could have HIV, just go and get tested. this test will be 100% accurate so you'll know. I only say that you could have it b/c if i said you didnt have it i'd be lying b/c there is no way anyone on here can read your scenario and accurately say you are not HIV positive. as paranoid as you were that night im surprised you have gone 5 years without going to the doctor and getting tested.

Even sexual intercouse (on a few occasions) may not mean you contract the virus from an HIV positive person. Its not as easy to contract as people think.
It is transfered by blood. I highly doubt you both had open cuts while she was servicing you with her mouth. And even so the risk is slim.
I think you might be making yourself paranoid. Go get tested.
