I get paraniod about weird things sometimes but I have a situation and am curious if one can get the HIV virus from it. I was at a friends house the other night and when I left, I shook the kids hand. Now say he and his girlfriend had just had sex and he had semen on his hand. I went lets say five minutes down the road and went to the bathroom but it was cold out and I know HIV lives longer in the cold. If my hand touched toilet paper that I then "used" could it spread that way? I thought I read somewhere that it can be caused if two non positvie HIV men have anal sex and it is beacuse their body is not used to the sperm intake. Not that there was any anal sex but I also know that it can spread through sperm. So if they were positve would it be possible and if they were not positive would it be possbile. Sorry if this question is ridiculous like I said I get parnoid about things and dont want to put others at risk.

It can't be spread this way. Even if it is cold outside, the virus would have died and there would have been so little semen by that time that there is virtually no way to get it. As for the anal sex thing. If they are HIV+, then, yes, they can spread it to each other and other people if they swap fluids. As for being HIV- and getting the disease through anal sex. No. Not possible. The virus can't be spread when it isn't even present in their systems. By having anal sex, they do not "create" the virus and become HIV+ from thin air. So, wherever you think you read that. It is wrong. Not correct. I hope that answered your question. I actually know a lot on this subject matter, so if you're curious about anything, you are welcome to e-mail me. I love e-mails. Have a nice day!

Statistically, you have a much, much better chance of being hit by lightening repetitively than being infected by HIV this way.

For starters, HIV is a very delicate virus and cannot survive outside the body for long.

Secondly, you are mistaken that "HIV lives longer in the cold. HIV does not live longer in cold temperatures. (The virus does best at about the same temperature as the human body.)

Third, there would need to be wet semen on your hand from someone who is HIV+ and it most likely would have to be directly exposed to the tiny area of your urethra.

HIV infection can not be caused by two HIV negative people regardless of their gender or who they're sleeping with. One person needs to have the virus in order to infect the other; an individual cannot transmit an infection which they do not have. If a "negative" person does infect another negative person, it means that either someone was lying about their HIV status or they didn't know that they were HIV+.

Your fear is irrational. You should educate yourself further about HIV since a lot of what you know seems to be misinformation. If this does little to alleviate your fears, I suggest you might consider seeking counseling for anxiety.

you may get hiv from just about all actual fluids. It takes alot of spit however. Spit has the backside concentration, yet pus and blood for sure have alot and the regularly occurring public with hiv improve mout sores or lesions sometime in the process the direction of the ailment. So in case you have a cut back on your lip, and that they have got those sores of their mouth...specific you may get hiv.

HIV negative people cannot transmit the virus because they don't have it.
HIV positive people cannot transmit HIV by touch or kissing because bodily fluid (blood, semen) needs to exchange and even then it might not happen. Bodily fluids include INTERNAL fluids only and not urine, excrement, or saliva as these are external fluids and HIV cannot survive externally... that is why it is called "HUMAN" immunodeficiency virus, because it can only live INSIDE humans.
