Why? It's not a disability. Although it can be if it gets out of control. Let me put it to you this way. Since exercise is the best thing a diabetic can do for theirself, why not do like me and park way out in the farthest spot from the store and WALK. Since you were just diagnosed, you definitely can benefit from learning all you can about diabetes. It's really not that big of a deal. I have fibromyalgia also and diabetes is a cakewalk compared to fibro. I've put together a webpage with a bunch of helpful info for newcomers such as yourself. There is no need to panic or think you're going to be disabled or anything if you just take care of yourself... it's easy....

Yes. The reason I say this is because my father has diabetes & so does my aunt. Neither of them have a loose limb, & they both can walk just fine. Other than the diabetes, they have no medical problems. However, I know for a fact that both of them do have disabled placards specifically for the diabetes.

No, seeing as there is nothing physicly wrong with you. Diabetes isn't a disability. A diabetic person can do everything everyone else can.

No unless you have undergone amputations due to complications of diabetes, otherwise nuh uh.
If you are type 2, you really need to be walking anyhow. Start parking further away not closer.

Only if you (God forbid) lose a limb due to the disease or it causes you some form of debilitation.
Of course, if any of this were to occur, you probably shouldn't be driving a car anyway.
Why don't you search for the link to your State's Motor Vehicle Department site...they would certainly have information on this.
