I have some Kimchi and it has been sitting in my fridge for awhile(a few months). It smells normal and looks normal, but I don't want to just eat it without knowing if it's spoiled or not. I was planning to eat it with rice. Could someone please respond soon...the Kimchi is looking mighty tasty right about now.lol.

You will know when refrigerated kimchi is off; like someone here says you'll see a kind of bluish green even white fuzzy mould appearing on top; or if it smells foul.

Although kimchi can keep for weeks, you should always consume it well within the stated expiry date. Very important: use clean cutlery, or chopsticks that are completely free of moisture to pick out the amount of kimchi before storing again in the refridgerator.

i agree with using a clean utensil for removing kimchi from its vessel...kimchi will definitely spoil...it will have a sour taste to it..it can still be consumed without making you sick, but it won't taste very good..don't use the same utensil that touched other food on your plate...while eating, use one utensil for eating and another for removing the kimchi from its vessel....always put it back in the fridge as soon as possible and it should keep for months...

kimchi in a fridge... difficult to spoil it! Actually it was not made, in the first place, to keep in a fridge... a fridge will further prolong its life span. Trust your nose and your eyes. Enjoy!

Does that stuff ever go bad??? It must be sealed up tight to keep it that long in the fridge.

Bottom line, you can eat it and find out, but if it's easy for you to get more and you can afford it, just toss it out and eat some chips and salsa.

It's only spoiled if you see green or blue fuzz. It's pickled veggies so it can't really spoil.
