For about a year now when ever my boyfriend falls asleep especially after working long hours, he wakes up wheezing and can barely breathe., He is extremely afraid that he is going to die in his sleep. . He coughs unproductively and cant seem to get the "spider webs" out. Does anyone else suffer from these symptoms? He uses an inhaler but it doesn't seem to be enough. The last time we went to the ER he took a 3 day course of Zithromax. Could he have a lingering infection? If so, how do we know? During the day when he is working and not sleeping he doesn't seem to have the intense symptoms. He used to be a loud snorer and and now he is mainly just wheezing. Help!

See a pulmonary specialist, one who specializes in sleep medicine. Having hd this problem for a year, it's time for help.

Depending on his ins, his family doc may have to refer him . Dn't put it off.
