I am looking for a decent size of asian supermaket where I can shop for my grocery. I just know one in chinatown that carries some chinese,japanese and korean food but would like to know if there are some more biggger supermarkets in chicago? thanks

Yeah the person above hit the mark. I've been to Chicago multiple times just for grocery shopping (from 4 hours away nonetheless!).

I went to Hmart a couple weeks ago and it's definitely fantastic. It's about the size of a Sam's Club full of Asian supermarket goodies.

Plus, the added bonus is that there are small eateries inside, just in case you get hungry.

The only drawback is that it's mainly Korean groceries, but there are definitely Chinese and Japanese related groceries in there too.

H-Mart. It's a brand new store that opened in Chicago. This store is going to put alot of smaller stores out of business.

It's a little outside the city, but Mitsuwa in Arlington Heights will have everything you're looking for. They have a good food court, too so bring your appetite!
