my dad's birthday is coming up (2 weeks) and i am incharge of preparing everyhting, but I need some ideas. We were thinking of just doing a bbq at my house, but i want it to be special for him since it is the first b-day he celebrates since he separated from my mom. Also, i live in san diego where it is almost always sunny and beautiful but, if it rains (like today) then i can't do anything outdoors... any ideas will really help!!

make sure you invite his best friends -- go for simple but great -- if you can afford to splurge on the food, do a little of that (tenderloin really is worth the price) -- but not so much that he will feel like you over-did it.

bless you -- he's a lucky dad

You should definitely have a Luau!!! You could set up a tiki hut and give everyone lays. You can find very inexpensive decoration and get really creative with it!
