Okay so here is the secnerio. I have a friend who is HIV positive and we were at a bar one night. I put my drink down next to his and I ended up getting our drinks confused. I thankfully didn't drink out of his straw that he was sucking on but from the side of the glass (don't know if that makes a difference?) But anywho- I had a huge canker sore and now I am like freaking myself out. I had a test for HIV in October-two weeks after but my friends say that it doesn't show up for 6 months. I don't think he had any open sores, but I am still worried. Would it still be possible to get if it was in the alcohol.....really scared. Please help!!!!

No not possible you must come in direct contact with blood semen vaginal secreations or breast milk. A HIV test window period is 25 days to 90 in which the majority who are positive test positive by this time.

You can't contract HIV from drinking out of somebody elses drink. Only if you friend somehow got blood on the glass and you sucked it in can you get HIV.

I know for a fact that AIDS or HIV is not transferable through saliva alone. Of course you should go immediately and have a test just to rest assured.

Here is the bigger limb, because you need support. In general
HIV is an active and activity viral that is yet not completely in
treatable research. Why it is in the news and that is due to
it having a real position, dirt. Places of heavy traffic is just not
the place to eat. Virals are lifetime infections. They can affect
other parts than the skin their usual easy site for them to grow.
Be careful with any people that are likely to be hardy varities on
the move, this is the carrier and untreated infections have lots
of old sickness. Drinking any type of alcohol happens to be
proven very recently to be the whereabouts of the virus. Their
is a fact virus are interested in growing in human bodies.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that you educate yourself on HIV and how it's contracted. I highly HIGHLY doubt you could pick it up this way.

No, you do not have HIV! Or... if you do, then it's not from the incident you described.
