there is a misconception in the world that salt raises blood pressure but in actual fact it doesnt..the thing that raises the b.p. is stress and stress then poor diet i.e. too many oily food like fast foods like mcdonalds or KFC or laziness which is one of the big factors...do some excercise and u will stay miles away from blood pressure ...dont do too much excercise just walk for 30-45 mins is enough preferably in the morning and i promise u wont have to think about b.p. ever in ur life...best of luck

Obviously too much of anything is bad for you but salt in moderation will not do you any harm. The thing to remember is that all processed foods contain large quantities of admitted to of salt content and hidden salt content.
If you wish to monitor the amount of salt you consume then the answer is to use fresh produce and make things from scratch, that way you will know how much salt your consuming in a day.
Salt in high doses by the way can have an effect not only on your blood pressure but also your heart so don't believe all your told.
The best rule of thumb is to enjoy your food but just keep in the back of your mind just how much salt your consuming in a given day and if it seems a lot then just have less the next day to help balance things out.
All the best my friend,

ANY Salt WILL raise your B.P. Processed food usually has too much in it anyway. Just cut it out completely, you won't miss it after a couple of weeks. Better than having a heart attack anyday.

Any added salt can raise your blood pressure, as most people get
the correct amount in their food anyway.
