How long did it take to start helping symptoms of infection? My 1yo son is taking it for brochitits.

I am allergic to it myself-but in studying medicine I know it to be 48 hours approx before it works. There are a few side effect which include rash and yellowing of the skin.

Usually anibiotic start working in around 2-3 days. Azithromycin is long acting and a 3 day course of zithromax will last as long as 10 days. You son may feel some gastrointestinal symptoms which is the draw back of taking macrolides which is the class of antibiotics that zithromax is under.

When my doctor prescribed it to me it was for only 6 pills. 2 the 1st day and 1 a day for the next 4 days. I started to notice improvement in 48 hours and within a week condition was cleared up. Bill

When I took it, It dropped my blood pressure so low, I was like a zombie for a couple hours
