Here's another vote for Waring. Good performance at a good price and not as hard to clean as the JLL models. The JLL perform about the same as the Juiceman models but the Juiceman are easier to clean and half the price!.
If money isn't a concern go for the Champion or a a Vita-mix.

I don't normally drink juice but instead *frequently* use my juicer to prep veggies for soups, breads and other cooking 'sneaky tricks'' My main problem with using these machines to make juice is that normally the final product has as much (or more) sugar than soda (something else I don't drink often) and the pulp usually gets wasted (along with all the good stuff).

BTW; the best extractor of all time was the attachment that Oster made for their Regency Kitchen Center! (long since murdered off though)

I'm surprised about the answer against the LaLanne juicer. I bought one after I noticed that the juicing bar where I regularly bought my carrot/ginger/apple juice used the LaLanne. I remarked on it and they said that they had owned a $1,000 commercial juicer but liked the LaLanne better. I bought one myself and just love it. If you have a dishwasher, it's no problem cleaning it.

When you juice you're missing a lot of the FIBER ... on the other hand, it makes it SOOO easy to get your daily fruit/veggie requirements. Also, by mixing the two, it makes a lot of vegetables more palatable.

I LOVE MY JUICE-3 times a day, at least. I ordered the Jack lalanne machine from QVC, but sent it back. It was VERY hard to clean. I found a Waring Juice Extracter at a thrift shop for about 5 dollars-I am THRILLED with it. Super easy to clean, makes a nice juice. I see all types of juicers at thrift shops and flea markets (mine was new, in the box)

I would skip the juicer and just get a Vita-Mix.
This would do all your juicing, Blending, Smoothies, even HOT soup in it. It is expensive but WELL worth it, it will never break and if it actually did it they have the best warrenty ever. No hassels.

I am trying to sell a product, but you did ask which applience and I KNOW This thing will give you more nutrition from your fruit or even veggies then any other kitchen product out there.

I can't really say what the BEST juicer is, but I love my Jack LaLane. The shoot is much larger than some of the ones you can buy at Wal-Mart and Target.
I'm totally a juice person!! :-)
