Turnips are delish! An easy way to prepare them is to steam them for about 15 minutes (whole) then let cool enough to handle, then peel them. Cut into desired slices or chunks, use in stews, or make wonderful mashed turnips the same way you would potato. They are full of potasium and vitamins. You do not need to resrtict them like potatos, as they are lower in starch. You might also try rutabegga (stronger flavor than turnip) and parsnips. I am vegetarian, and once I discovered these wonderful veggies, there was no turning back. You can also make oven fries by lighlty oiling cut turnips or rutabeggas and backing them in the oven, I am having a batch of rutabegga oven fries for breakfast, as I often do. Do give it a try-wonderful taste experience. There would be no way to describe what they taste like, as they have their own unique flavor.

Turnips are great. They have a richer taste than potatoes. Get some recipes ideas and start with a simple one that lets you experience the turnip in its full flavor. Being open to new veggies is always a healthy and fun idea.

I love turnip and yes they are very good for you. A good way is boil them with carrots. When they are both soft mash together with a hint of butter and a hint of brown sugar. Sometimes i make mashed potatoes and add mashed turnip and carrots to them. Delicious.

I eat them raw. I can't stand the taste after they are cooked. They also smell bad. Raw they are just great with salt and even good with many dips.
Many people do like cooked turnips so do give them a try.

Turnips and swede are very similar They are better for you than potatoes but it depends how you serve them. If you cut them into cubes, boil and mash them with butter then they are tasty but the butter adds fat/calories. Best way for health is to dice them and put them into casseroles.

It is a nice tangy root veg it tastes different to potato is exactly like swede and similar to parsnip in its flavour . You can mash it, chip it, boil it, bake it and have it in soups, stews and curries!! It does not contain starch like the spud and I recommend trying one you are in for a treat!

They are great, you can eat it alone or cut them up in your green beans, the out -side is tough to cut, but once you get pass that you're ok, you can also smash them up and put a pinch of cinnamon,...... try diffrent spices & seasonings
