Bronchitis is an upper respiratory tract infection of the bronchial tubes. It often occurs as a secondary infection of having flu.
It will usually clear itself up without medical intervention; however, if it is persistant after a week or so, you should see a doctor. Symptoms are a congested feeling when you breath, a bit of a rattling sound may be evident, mucus sometimes green in colour when you cough.
As for the weight gain, perhaps you are not as active as you were. You may have changed your eating habits.
Your doctor could do a blood test to see if your thyroid is the problem.
You might think of examining these possibilities now before you get much older. So much easier to deal with when you are younger.
If it is a drastic weight gain, check with a physician a.s.a.p.
Good luck.

Bronchitis is an irritation of the Bronchial tubes.- the air passages of the lungs. I recommend a cool mist humidifier, and add a pint of hydrogen peroxide to the gallon tank. Run it at night while you sleep. Sudden weight gain is almost always caused by a sudden increase in caloric intake.

They've given you the information about bronchitis.
As I was reading your questions, it appears that you may have recently quit smoking. Nicotine is an appetite suppressant, so you might be eating more because your appetite is returning to normal after smoking.
Also, sudden weight gain is a symptom of depression, so if you are worried about that please see a doctor or other mental health professional.
