Very few things in this world are 100 percent safe. Unfortunately for you condoms are not one of them.

condoms just like birth control pills are not 100% guaranteed. They are as safe as the person using them. If you can wait until you and your partner are serious about starting a romantic love life then you and your partner should get tested for std's together this why here you don't need to worry if a condom breaks or the pill is ineffective.

No, they are not 100% safe. There are issues like user error (not putting the condom on correctly, using out-of-date condoms, condoms that are not safely stored (left in glove boxes, wallets, etc.)
However, humans are sexual beings and abstinence isn't for everyone and not something I believe is a viable "cookie cutter approach; one-size-fits-all" method of pregnancy and disease prevention. If used correctly they are very effective at preventing pregnancy and the spread of HIV, gonorrhea, chlamydia and herpes (in the case of herpes, this is true if the infected area is completely covered).
There is some question about the efficacy of condoms preventing the spread of HPV (Human Papillomavirus)

No. Condoms are only effective (when used PROPERLY) about 99% of the time. So if you do it 100 times, you're on borrowed time. Don't have sex until you're married, that's the only real way to prevent STD's.

Condoms are 98% effective if used properly! However condoms do break! Risk of STD, HIV, Pregancy are reduced with use of a condom but only abstinence provides you with a fool proof guarantee not to contract a pesky disease.

No manufacturer can guarantee hundred percent safety. However they are definitely a big protection in preventing spreading of AIDS.
