All these meat eaters are saying vegetarians are unhealthy and gross. I'm 15, and on June 5th, I will have been a vegetarian for one year, and you know they're wrong.

I have been sick with a cold once, that I got from my boyfriend. This was over 3 months ago. The only sickness I have now is kidney infections because I have reflex of the urinary tract (which is like acid reflex but in the lower regions.) And my doctors are working on fixing it.

So, I don't know, maybe I'm just lucky. But I can breath better, and run more and faster, and play for hours and not get tired. I'm more healthy without meat, so my question is why do meat eaters say that and do any vegetarians/vegans know what I'm talking about?

Good day everyone =]

I know that my vegetarianism has made me healthier rather than just growing up because I'm not in sports, I'm in Marching Band. Which lasts from July to October. And I know that my boyfriend can run insanely fast and forever and I was never able to do that, but now I can. And thats in just the last six months. Vegetarianism reduces all the grossness in your heart, right? Well obviously I don't have that grossness anymore....So yeah, to answer your question AndyB, my vegetarianism has made me healthy.

People will find any excuse not to cut ties with a lifestyle they have known for so long. We don't need meat to be healthy and it is ludicrous for uninformed people to claim otherwise. We will be more healthy without meat because we are basically cutting out the bulk of our saturated fats which cause cholesterol problems, heart disease and type two diabetes. As long as we eat only reduced fat dairy foods and make sure we get enough iron and protein from other foods or supplements, my bet is that vegtarians will outlive all those meat-eaters, hands down.

Meat eaters feel threatened by vegetarians I am sure of it, I am vegetarian and live with a carnivore and get flack.
I simply can't eat meat, can't even stand the smell of it and have never felt healthier in my life.
Just keep doing what you are doing, you are happy and healthy which is great.
Don't listen to the knockers, they will only bring you down and there is no health reason to eat meat whatsoever.
G'day to you too....

You just need to keep a balanced diet to get the proper nutrition for your body. You might consider vitamins if you want to be sure.

The illogical part of the comments you get is that how would a non-vegetarian know if being a vegetarian is not good? Kind of like someone who doesn't know about golf commenting on the swings of pro golfers. It doesn't make any sense.

Just a question, how do you know you're healthier without it? You say you've been veggie for a year and now can breath better, run faster and for longer, etc, but considering your age your stamina and things would naturally be increasing anyway.
I'm only a year or so older than you, and I can tell you I'm much fitter and stronger than I was a year ago, and I would have been able to say that every year since I can remember. At school I bet most of your friends can run faster, etc, in sport than they could last year, and you can't directly attribute that you can to your vegetarianism.

Ignore the fools! In another 30-40 years you'll still be around and they'll be the ones kicking the oxygen habit. If it makes you feel any better I went through the same kind of garbage (and much, much worse) but I'm still around and they aren't.

being vegan/vegitarian is great for you.
It takes the drugs they give the animals out ofyou're system,!
It also does wonders for your unhealthy fat and anything else.
Meat eaters are just eartless and need to stop being so anal retentive.

Some vegetarians don't make the effort to learn how to eat properly for adequate nutrition-I'm glad that you did.
