Sodium Caseinate. I suppose this question is for Vegans, and Vegitarians that are against the consumption of dairy products. from what I know about this product, it is a high-quality milk protein product. But, due to the way that it is processed, the FDA has deemed it non-dairy, although it is a milk derivative. It is mainly used in non-dairy coffee creamer. So, do any of you use non-dairy coffee creamer, and do any of you already know about this product. And, I guess, my main question is, if so, are you ok with it?

I'm not a vegan, nor a vegetarian. I don't want any alternatives, nor suggestions. I simply want your opinion on the subject. What you think of Sodium Caseinate.

You, know, I want to thank you for all your answers, but I think I've come to a conclusion on why the FDA has deemed it non-dairy. I haven't had the time to research this, as I've been busy, but I'm sure it would be for allergen reasons. It is considered non-dairy, because All allergens are removed, and therefore, people with dairy allergies can consume non-dairy creamer. I don't think vegetarians/vegans were who was in mind when this product was deemed non-dairy. I still would appreciate your opinions though on if you do consume this product.

it's all about companies merging and sneaking products into our food so they can make more money ..its not right. BUT What really isnt right is people who have never even seen a cow other than the zoo..have all these expert opinions on how animals are used. Cows arent raped for milk,,cows enjoy being milked as ANY breast feeding mother can tell you...ya want that milk OUT. Bees arent freaking out over the honey either Dont worry they'll make more.Ive been a vegetarian 26 yrs and It has never made me a fanatic yet...Try more B-12 and calm down the animals are ok........

I know that any vegans who have ever come live with me have avoided any vegan cheese that contains casein. It IS considered a milk product, because that is the only place it can be derived from, even though the FDA has deemed it non-dairy.

Like Vitamin D3 the processing deems it a non animal product, but very strict vegans would object to it. I think most vegans would use soy or rice milk or cream.

it is not vegan. They still had to take it from a cow's milk which was raped for that milk.
The FDA isn't vegan =O =/ [not a bad hit on you]
