Are they made from real or imitation crab meat?

It dont matter if it's crab on not cuz the fake crab is still made with fish.
Vegetarians dont eat anything made with fish!! Why did you ask this question here since theres a ethnic food section where you could have asked people that eat dead animals.

Imitation crab meat is still fish..just a cheaper catch then crab and made to taste like crab. It's not a vegetarian food.

I remember my vegetarian friend turning them down because he thought there was real crab in there. Real chinese places would not offer such things, so you are getting an american item that it almost always made with fake crab, to save money, and even then only a negligible amount. I don't see the harm. Only a few places would use real crab and they would probably be some kind of fusion place that caters to a more expensive crowd.

relies upon on the position you bypass- the run of the mill nook chinese take out places basically use imitation crab, and little or no quantities of it the nicer ones, featuring diverse food and settings have authentic crab and the single through me has a impressive crab rangoon with chunks! yet really, you're gonna ought to ask the eating position

almost always fake crap meat, but better ask the manager or chef just to be sure, those crab ragoons are heaven man

Depends on what Chinese place you go to. One of our favorite places always uses real crab. But the only time I went to our local Happy Wok (a chain in our area) I bit into a crab Rangoon and pulled out a huge chunk of the fake stuff.
So I'll stick to the fried rice at the fast food type places and pig out on crab Rangoon at my favorite place.
BTW crab Rangoon is not hard to make, but I really don't like deep frying anything at home so I buy it LOL

They're made with cream cheese and only microscopic traces of imitation crab. They should just be called "Fried Cream Cheese".
