I have this nasty cold and l know lt`s Laryngitis cause my voice is not to good and there`s times where l can`t talk at all. plus lm also passing some brown Phlegm, is this normal with Laryngitis? what can a Doctor give me to break up all the Phlegm cause l feel very uncomfortable? serious replys only please,,,,

Do you smoke? That would cause brown phlegm.
Brown phlegm could also be a sigh of old blood but you need to find out where it's coming from. Maybe sinuses maybe lungs. If it's the lungs, you need an xray to see what the problem is.

You should see your doctor about the brown phlegm. Sounds like a URI to me.

you might have bronchitis too or a respiratory infection. I get them all the time. Don't mess around . you could get a collapsed lung. you really need to get checked out. doctor will give you antibiotics and a cough suppressant.. ask for promethazine, it is the best.. knocks you out for a day but the next day you feel 99% better.

You could try over the counter expectorants. Check your local pharmacy, and ask the pharmacist what he recommends, if it doesn't resolve in the next couple weeks or gets severe then see your doctor.
