Honey does have more carbs per serving than a serving of white sugar. It is probably in your best interest to use a non-sugar sweetener like Splenda. I'm pretty sure they have sugar free syrups for pancakes and the like, so possibly they might have a honey flavored substitute somewhere in a specialty store?

I understand that it is a practice to "take more insulin" just to have sweets, but this is NOT a healthy practice. You should never purposely eat foods high in carbs and up the insulin units to "cover" what you ate. I can't believe anyone would ever recommend that to someone!!! Eat sensibly and you will not ever have to do that.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Honeyis not a good thing! I am a type 1 diabetic for over 20 years and honey should not be used. Put a sweetner like splenda in your tea, if you have to sweeten it. Honey never worked for me, it is like syrup! Honey however would be good to raise a low blood sugar!

Can a diabetic eat honey? Of course.

SHOULD a diabetic eat honey. No way.

Honey is a supersaturated sugar solution with a high GI number.

just a small amount should be okay. I am a type 1 and I have used honey in my tea and as an ingredient in cooking, but I don't put it on my toast or anything like that

it should probably be eaten in moderation. Diabetics can usually eat some sugary stuff, they just have to balance it out with the rest of their diet, or give extra insulin to balance it out.

My doctor told me to avoid it completely. It is a natural sugar though so it is better than cane sugar, but in reality no sugar is good for a diabetic.
