There is NO cure for herpes. There is medication to help suppress the virus and make the outbreaks less severe, but once a person has genital herpes they will ALWAYS have genital herpes.
A person can go years without having an outbreak though, but they still have the virus. I have personally been outbreak free for two years now, but I still have the virus.

I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. yes u will always carry the virus in your nervous system in your lower back (spine) you can treat the symptoms until there gone. But you can have a flare up at any time, usually when your stressed. But some people may never have a flare up again in their lives while others have them every year.
