Does anybody know the average age people usually get HIV or at least what age group is most affected?
Or does anybody know whats the average time it took for somebody to realize they had HIV?

The highest risk group is for individuals in their early to mid 20s. The age group with the highest percent increase is senior citizens believe it or not and teenagers.
20 percent of the population who are infected do not know that they are because early symptoms can mimic those of common illnesses. The earliest symptoms can develop within weeks but it can take over 3 months for it to be detected in a blood test.
The highest risk group is homosexual males and the lowest risk group is homosexual females.
In the state of Indiana there is an estimated eight thousand individuals infected (not me btw) and New York City has the highest percentage of infection in the US by city with I believe around fifty thousand infected.
I was worried for a long time that I could be infected just by hearing all of the horror stories about it. I think it induced something in my mind. But I was recently tested and it was negative. The average odds of contracting the disease by one time unprotected sexual contact with an infected partner is between 1 in 800-1000. But it is always better to be safe than sorry

Blood tests can detect it in the body 6 months after exposure. Any time before and the bug may still be hiding inside cells.
