I am trying to become a vegetarian and have given up all other meats for a while now. Chicken is the hardest and I have only been able to eat it sparingly but not stop completely.

Does anyone have any tips on how to quit?

First you need to reframe the way you THINK about it. Instead of thinking "I cant have chicken" think about what you CAN have. For me, I turned to ethnic cuisine for inspiration and recipes. Now I think of all the lovely new foods I am learning about. I dont miss the chicken a bit now (did at first till I started thinking about it differently) Also, if you want to do it graphically-go to meetyourmeat.com or peta.org-watch the videos. Trust me, you wont WANT to eat if ever again. Congrats on your decision to go veggie. Smart choice.

well it depends on the person. This seems to be the hardest for many.

Try chicken substitues such as chik nuggets.
Alos try and educate yourself on chicken. Ex: All the chicken served at McDOnalds except the McNuggest contains soy, inlcuding their "premium chicken strips"
while they still have chicken in them, my point is what you may consider chicken isn't always just that, soy products aren't so bad when you realizeyou've been eatting them for years in some form.

Also educate yourself about how chichens are treated. CHickens are the MOST mistreated animal of all as people jsut view them as birds. Thei beak tips are chopped off so they do not peck others/themselves, they live in constant artificial lights, and are often stomped on, kciked, and worse by workers. Most cannot stand up even.

however if your eally want to quit anything, it all really boils down to your WANT to quit. If you can quit eating beef then you can quit eating chicken, you just have to do it.

It's hard to give it up because I used to eat hamburgers and chicken nuggets all the time, but now I'm vegetarian. However, there are fake meats and I think they taste pretty good. I have a box of fake chicken nuggets in my dorm fridge that I can cook in the microwave and they are so yummy. I also love the veggie burgers that are in my college's dining hall.

OK.. i used to work in a chicken processing plant.. picture this next time you got your hands on that juicy drum stick..those chickens and caught and put in to a pin... all cram it there and can barely move then the pins get loaded on the back of a semi.. they go to the plant.. alive they are hung up side down and they go there a machine that steams them to death and plucks the feathers.. then the go down a line hanging upside down.. we chopped off the head and pluck what feathers are still there.. then pull the gizzard and livers.. and cut the necks off and then the go to the other side of the plant were they finished the job.. oh and once in a while the chicken don't die when they go threw the steaming.. they just lay there half dead..i lasted about 4 months on that job before i quit

Just stop. Is it the flavor or the fact that it is the only meat you still eat what? Your not addicted to chicken are you? I mean I have heard of odd addictions before but.... there are chicken alternatives if you want to go that route but I have to admit they do not tast exactly like chicken. Find an adventist book center and they have all sorts of meatless products you should try

Stop eating chicken. Don't eat it sparingly either. I know it's hard to stop earing the things you love (trust me, I know). Don't buy it when you are at the store or when you go over a friend's house for dinner. All you can basically do is beat the urge! It can work b/c it becomes a habit!

Meet your meat. Google that above, and watch the video that comes up. Will you lose wieight? WHo understand,s you are able to desire to finally end up eating cheese whizz quite and freid oeros, so that's as much as you. i do no longer understand why each physique asks will I shed pounds, you need to sense stable you're no longer eating issues with veins anymore first. Then the burden difficulty would be addressed. in case you consume fowl continuously, and supply up, that's possibly you will shed pounds, yet no longer in case you commence eating some thing else quite, except that's basic tofu or chickpeas or soething greater powerful than a lifeless fowl. consume quorn, tofu, setian quite. or purely stable old vegetarian wings. Morningstar do a robust version nonetheless they're high priced and junk foody. no longer as high priced as a fowl nonetheless..

MorningStar Farms meal starter strips in chicken flavor (caution, garlic gas alert) or Chic patties. Quorn makes products that are very chicken like but the fungus source of protien gives some people loose stools. I love Tofurkey deli slices. Good luck!

Hard for me to say what draws you to chicken, but in the Chinese markets, in the frozen sections, they have mock meats. These started with vegetarian monks, and made with gluten to resemble the everyday persons diet(cooked with same vegetables, sauces, herbs) but named "mock fish" "mock chicken" "mock beef" etc. If you try the chicken you can bake the "fillets" or stir fry the nuggets, and make your own toppings, and maybe this will help you out.

Try not having it as often, maybe once a week. Most likely after a while you won't crave it as much and when you do have it, it just won't taste the same. That's what I did and now any meat tastes disgusting to me. Try it out, maybe it'll work for you too. ^_^
