Yes. Genital herpes can spread a in number of ways, including through oral sex. If a participant in oral sex has a cold sore (also known as a fever blister) and the blister has direct contact with the genital, then it is very likely, as cold sores are a form of herpes, that the other participant will acquire genital herpes.

This can happen vice-versa as well. If you have oral sex with someone with genital herpes, but you (excuse the details) lick them, you may get a cold sore.

Yes. If you were to give some one oral sex that had herpes then you could definatly get it. Fever blisters or cold sores is caused from a type of herpes, some have it worse that others. Genital herpes is a different type but if your mouth comes in contact with it you can still get it.

Genital herpes can be transmitted to the mouth (the mucus membranes) via engaging in oral sex.

Oral herpes is called Herpes Simplex 1.
Genital herpes is called Herpes Simplex 2.

The same virus in different locations.

If Herpes is found in the rectal area, it's still considered Genital Herpes.

Well genital herpes is usually caused by herpes type II, and oral by herpes type I. The viruses can sometimes infect the opposite locations, but it's harder to catch them that way and they don't thrive there.

If someone gets herpes type I on their genitals, it's unlikely to recur and is less contagious than type II, so it's unlikely to spread to someone's mouth. Most people already have type I herpes orally anyways and can't catch it again.

If you have oral sex with someone with herpes type II, if you catch it orally it is the same thing: it doesn't like that area so it's unlikely to recur like normal cold sores do. If you already have type I oral herpes (cold sores), you are also protected against catching it because it's almost impossible for two different types of herpes to infect the same location.

If you've had unprotected oral sex with a carrier of the disease then you are at high risk, and you should get checked immediately before you spread the disease to others. It wouldn't be genital herpes it would be called herpes of the mouth.

Herpes are herpes. If it is in your crotch area, it is genital herpes. If someone has genital herpes on their face they should seek pro-bono surgery to have the falace removed from the facial area. This is like an ache. You can have an ear ache, a head ache, a tooth ache, etc. By the way, PLEASE see a doctor immediately!!

that's how that works. in case you accomplished oral on your better half and gotten smaller herpes than you have herpes of the mouth. you will no longer have genital herpes. Now in case you had intercourse with your better half then specific you will contract gential herpes.
