I say the south beach diet is not suitable for anyone. It's a boring diet that is very hard to stick with, and once you go off it you gain back more weight than you originally lost. So unless anyone is willing to commit to the south beach diet for life i wouldn't recommend it. Plus it's not good to eat that much choletreal and diebetics have enough problems without going on funky diets.

You need to go and see your GP who'll be able to answer that for you. If it's not suitable, then they'll be able to provide a suitable diet for you.

Yes, my MD recommended it & my spouse & I are both type 2 diabetics and we have done very well on that diet. It requires commitment and a lot of work preparing the meals but they are delicious & very worth it.
