Herpes? Irritation?

I masturbated rigorously the night prior without lube...and I went to sleep...well I wake up in the morning and I have this small patch of redness on the shaft of my penis accompanied with a small red spot.....I stretch the skin of the shaft and it seems as if its a small abrasion or cut on the shaft surrounded by dry white flakey skin....also the head of my penis was extremely flakey which I think is part of masturbation. Anyways that was Wednesday..come Friday the "cut" fully healed and a scab fell off the cut ...leaving no marks..it never hurt...was never sore...is this an atypical herpes outbreak? perhaps an irritation? i'm a bit concerned......just a side note....this cut was size of a pinhead..very tiny.....Please offer advice? :(

Sounds more like irritation.

Genital herpes sores are usually VERY painful and appear as several sores, not just one. They can last weeks without medication - not one or two days. Not only do they scab but they usually puss a clearish fluid. Some people experience flu-like symptoms and sometimes a fever.

My first genital herpes outbreak was EXTREMELY painful. My doctor prescribed me two different antiviral medications and Vicodin. I could hardly walk or sit down and had to call off of work for 3 days.

If you are REALLY concerned you can always go to your doctor and ask to be tested for herpes. It is just a simple blood test and you'll have the results within a few days.
