After risky intercourse, what chance is there that an STD wont show up in you are tested after 2-3 weeks? How about 2-3 months? When can you be sure? Please help

Thanks for your answers, I would like a more exact answer so let me clarify.

Firstly, risky intercourse I mean unprotected sex with someone who hadnt been tested for 6 months.

Secondly, this happened some days ago and there havent been any symptoms as of now.

What I want to know is how long one needs to wait after the encounter to get negative results and KNOW that they are actually negative. Is HIV the only one that needs longer? And is there any link to somewhere that says how long it might take? Thanks again

It all depends on the type. Some STDs do not show any signs for a long time ,some people never show signs, and HIV can take i think around 5 years. The best thing to do is go get tested.

depends on the std, but for most in can be anywhere from 2days to 3 months. I know it takes 3-6 months for HIV to show up on a blood test.

Having an STD test does not cover all STDs. Many stay dormant in the body for years, and people don't even know they're carrying them.

Depends on the STD, see a doctor.

First, pray and ask God to forgive you and the other party for disobeying His will for your lives. Secondly, don't do it again. Thirdly, the norm is that it take up to three days to know if you have a common STD. Lastly, continue to go get your regular check up.
