I made an INFORMED decision to give up meat. Most meat eaters have eaten it their entire lives, and so just accept it as normal. I doubt if any of them researched eating meat as much as I researched becoming a veggie, then they would make an INFORMED choice-instead, its really just following the masses of the rest of the uninformed, dont you think? And for all you veggie bashers, go ahead, fire away-you are always good for a laugh. I KNOW why I eat the way I do, do YOU?

No and they don't realise how stupid they sound either!

Top 5 Meat-eater excuses.
1) If God didn't want us to eat animals why did he make them out of meat ? (He made them out of flesh and some buffoon decided to eat them.)
2) It is our nature . (We are omnivores but more similar to herbivores than carnivores therefore vegetarian or vegan are better choices!!)
3)Vegetables are alive too. (yes and they don't beed have a complex body, think bleed and feel pain !!!)
4) We need meat for protien blah, blah, blah We can get it from nuts, pulses, peas, wheat, mushrooms and analogs!!
5) The Bible says that week can eat meat. How is killing animals the christian thing to do (explain it to me please , I'm a catholic!)

some vegetarians think they are superior because they made this moral decision to spare a pigs life. But really you don't deserve any credit it's not like you stop the war or poverty in the world, you can keep to yourself with your beliefs and stop trying to make meat eaters feel like douches and trying to stuff your opinions down our throats cause at the end of the day, meat is going down there anyway HAHA =P

I am a meat eater, as much as I don't want to be, I just love a good steak. I admire vegetarians for their will power, especially the ones that have tasted meat and can give it up. I do believe in animals not being killed, unless it's for food, but even then, when one hears about the cruelty in these slaughter houses, it deters me from eating meat only for a few days. Sorry, I am weak :-(

I am a vegetarian. The truth is God gave us sharp teeth to eat meat, this wouldn't be so bad if we didn't kill animals in such large numbers. If we had to hunt for food and only the strongest survived you would have to eat whatever you could get. Sometimes I wish we weren't a thinking species.

P,S. I hate it when vegetarians bother meat eaters, because they are making a personal choice too. Meat is supposed to be eaten by humans

Good on you for making an informed decision and for giving up meat.
Many people become vegetarians without finding out how to eat properly and get all the necessary vitamins in their diet.
Did you really expect meat eaters to give an answer which made sense LOL....

I eat meat and actually, according to my holistic nutritionist my body is made to eat meat since I am an O blood-type. I have never bashed anyone for their choices in what they eat. I don't think most people do. Maybe you're a little sensitive to the subject. Instead of getting angry with people who don't understand vegetarianism, you could see if they had any questions that would help them learn.

I think it's silly when either side bashes the other one. Each person's diet is his or her own choice, and nobody should be be made to feel bad about what they choose to eat, IMHO.

I'm responsible for myself -- no one else. And I don't feel as if I have the right to bash someone else for their choice, either.

well does anyone realize how shallow they sound when they insult anyone?? Its immature and a common trate among most people as they never learn to respect others.
On that note vegetarians sound just as shallow when they bash meat eaters. We all have our own opinions, we don't have to like each other but we should respect each other.

Personally I don't eat meat, my opinion of people who eat meat is that they are selfish. Especially the reason "I do it because it tastes good". I don't think I have heard one reason to eat meat that isn't selfish. But there is lots of things I dont like, I cant understand why someone would like rap music either. And selfishness is one of the most basic human trates from early childhood, should we judge someone because they are like the majority of humans and cannot seem to move past this human instinct if you will, to whats supposed to actually set humans apart form other species, compassion.
If you don't like them my best suggestion is just don't talk to them about the issue or if it REALLY bothers you, do not make close friends with those kind of people just as you would not be close friends with other issues which play a part in who you socialize with.
And try and rememebr, just as you don't like somone to push their religions belifes or meat eatting choice onto you they feel the same so do not bring yourself down to that level.
