I use what my Asian supermarket call "Thai Basil". I don't know if that's the same as kafia leaf.

I would imagine its the lemongrass in Thai green curry that gives the distinctive flavour.
Its fresh and citrousy. The stalk itself is too hard to be eaten, except for the soft inner part. However, it can be finely sliced and added to recipes. It may also be bruised and added whole as this releases the aromatic oils from the juice sacs in the stalk. The main constituent of lemongrass oil is citral.
Fresh Thai basil is also used to add fragrance in certain dishes such as Green curry.
Kaffir lime leaves are also widely used.

Basil.
Although, Thai curry's also have Kaffir Lime Leaves, they do not taste the same without freshly torn up basil leaves added just at the end of cooking.
