16 year olds ,especially boys will not bring a dish. Pick a theme- either fiesta, hawaiin, or the all american BBQ. Have his mother make the food-maybe you could help or pitch $ in. You can buy already made potato salad salsa, ect.. or frozen tacos and tequitos. Make a picture spot-- you know like the kind they make for the prom, but much cheaper. You can buy sand and put it in something or use a sandbox. Get a stand-up cut out of a hula dancer or pink or something and fun hats, boas', hawaiin lei's, handcuffs, whatever for props. Go to the Dollar store and ask your girlfriends mom and his mom for items. See if they have a volleyball net for in or out of the water--same with basketball net. See if his mom has stuff for pool games and beach balls. Don't forget the floaties for the 16 yr old birthday boy. Set up a music station--everybody brings and lables. Do the orange game under the neck-- boy/girl/boy/girl. Get a huge tub from the dollar store and fill with water-- float apples, rings of pinapple, cherries, grapes, and orange slices--bob for fruit. Are fireworks legal--get some sparklers or whatever you can afford. Tiki torches-- if they have a pool-- they have tiki torches. Check around and see who has the horse shoes and washers game set. Borrow chairs. Have fun-- i wish it was warm enough to open my pool!!!!

Lots of junk food, burgers, hot dogs, nachos, tacos, and when in doubt, do what makes all parties great, make it a potluck where everyone has to bring a different dish. Other than that have some fun water/pool games ready, search this on google and you will find more than you can handle. Make sure you get good music that everyone likes, if you need to ask people you are inviting their favorite songs. As for some other people that said hooker, what are you thinking?!?!?! This is a 16 year old party not a batchlore party fools.

since you are throwing a party near the pool then make it a pool party wherein everyone has to wear their swimsuits and just add some playing stuff like water balls and as for food do not cook too much because it is a party it must be beer and grilled meat and of course loud music or rock music should also included

Make it a toga occasion or a pajama occasion. anybody has to costume in togas or some kind of sleep positioned on. the girls will convey some provacative sleep positioned on out the timber works. you additionally could make it an all white occasion in case you think of you're too previous for a toga or pajama occasion. yet toga events are college traditions. And the pajama one is in easy terms a classic assure solid time. PEACE!

Streamers, balloons, hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages and chicken legs. Pasta salad(chicken/tuna), green salad, and to save on money get a few friends to bring sodas, chip and salads, bread to offset costs and in lieu of presents.

Have a great day and let friends help/chip in(don't be afraid to ask his parents either).
