Peruvians drink a purple drink called chicha morada. It is made from purple corn and usually served cold with bits of apple in it. It has a sweet taste, somewhat like kool-aid. When made very thick, it can be used like a sweet sauce and would be good with arroz con leche.

It's called mazmorra, a compound word from maza morra which means purple dough or purple corn flour. It's made from ground purple corn, soaked overnight, and cooked gently with a little sugar until well done. It's basically cornmeal mush, but made from purple corn. If you need more info, email me.
