I did NOT sleep around and I got an STD. So, it is not just caused by having sex with any and everybody. I was with my boyfriend of 5 years and he cheated on me with another girl. The girl had an STD, which he didnt know she had, and he passed it on to me. So, STDS can affect ANYONE!

You can get an STD from sleeping around with different people without using any type of protection and if you had sex with someone who is infected So if you are thinking of having sex with someone you should definitely use protection also you should go to your local clinic and pick up some brochures that tells you more about STDs.

STD's are typically carried by infected persons with a few exceptions like crabs which is pubic lice. You have to have unprotected sex or unsafe sexual practices with someone with an STD. Unsafe sexual practices includes more than just unprotected penetration, also oral sex, rimming, etc. Just sleeping around will not necessarily result in acquiring an STD.... if you sleep around alot and are always protected by appropriate barriers, you are not likely to get an STD.

To get a STD, sexually transmitted disease, you must have sexual contact with someone already infected. Sexual contact would include oral and anal contact in addition to vaginal.

Sleeping around - having multiple sexual contacts - increases the likely hood of encountering someone who has an STD. Every time you have sex with a different person, it is almost like you are having sex with every person that partner ever had sex with.

If you sleep around, you are bound to sleep with someone infected at one point or another. Please, please, please, use some protection, you will be safer and you will look smarter.
