dependant on the severity of your C.O.P.D., bearing in mind it is a progressive illness.
i suffer with it and have been unable to work for six years and am now terminal.

so, just take it easy !

I would think the railway company would have to prove that your COPD is causing or could cause you to not be able to perform your job. My friend controls her COPD with medication and continues to work(not in a critical postion). Also, if you are protected by a union,I think your job would be pretty safe.
