this is kinda gross but i think my husband has an std and may have given it to me, i think. Can I still get pregnant if i have an std?

You'll definitely want to get it cured if it is a bacterial STD like chlamydia, syphilis, and gonorrhea. Bacterial STDs can cause health problems like sterility for both men and women if not treated. Also, you can pass it to your baby during birth. Gonorrhea can cause blindness in newborns.

And, if you have a viral STD like herpes or HPV there is no cure. But, at least you can treat the symptoms of the STD and take certain precautions during childbirth so the baby is not born with either one of these STDs. Babies born with herpes can actually die from it! Luckily though, it is REALLY rare to be born with herpes or HPV.

You can still get pregnant but you need to get the STD treated first and so does your husband. If you think you have an STD or even just a vaginal infection see a doctor before it spreads.

absolutely!! and not only can you get pregnant with an std but you also can pass that std on to your baby through the birth canal,through the blood stream and through your breast milk if you breast feed. aids can be passed through all 3 of these ways. Venereal warts can pass during a vaginal delivery and most doctors will recommend a c-section if you have warts present during your pregnancy. there are also other problems for your baby associated with certain diseases. sypholys can cause your baby to be born blind. Some std's can cause you to become steryl if you carry it around without treatment for a long time. I think Clamidia is one of these. And Clamidia is easy to carry without many noticeable symptoms. On top of all that some things can't even be treated while you are pregnant so you have to carry around an std your whole pregnancy before treatment can be administered. overall it is very important to know yourself inside and out literally once you become sexually active and then for the rest of your life. it's a dangerous world out there--BE CAREFUL!!!!

You need to raise your concern to your husband and seek doctor's help/treatment together. As you can still get pregnant while having std, you can also give it to your child. Some STDs also cause infertility.
If you get treated and your husband does not, you can get the STD again.
