One of my fav too. Unfortunately i dont think you can ever match anything to real mexican foods.....
Heres how i do mine
1 lb Lean steak mince
red onion
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon paprika
6 tablespoons of water
Add mince and onion and brown, then add all spices, and water
Simmer for min 30 mins (I like my mince soft so i do for an hour and top up with a little more water if necessary)
Add fresh celantro (coriander if unavailable)
10 minutes before mince is done, grate cheese, slice lettuce thinly, chop tomatoes fine
Heat tacos in oven for couple of minutes
Scoop mince into taco, top with lettuce, tomatoe and cheese and finish with a huge dollop of sour cream/garlic dip and salsa.
Mmmmmmm
i know what i am having for dinner tomorrow.
Enjoy Amigo!

Depends on what type of tacos you'd like. Let's stick to the basics...Steak tacos. First, the most important part of the taco is the meat. For the best taste you need to marinate your steak for a couple of hours. You can buy thinly cut steak and place it in a nice seasoning (salt & garlic powder is all I use). Then, Chop the steak up into little strips and sautee it until well cook. Second...the tortillas. And I'm not talking about the hard shelled kind. The best tacos are made with homemade tortillas. All you have to do is mix water with "Maseca" (corn flour) and shape your tortillas to preferred size. Or you can just buy some at a grocery store...save you the trouble. Third...the salsa...simple...for a small portion of salsa, boil 2 vine ripe tomatoes and 3 jalapenos. When fully cooked, blend with a bit of onion, garlic and salt. Simple...ok maybe not so simple...

in the USA are not authentical Mexican Tacos ,they are tacos for Americans and in Mexico does not exist a Taco bell
everybody sells tacos at every street corners and in front of the houses ,it is the most commom business that is done from the home ,the other is Tiendas ,small shops that sell essentials
authentical mexican tacos can contain dog meat ,often is goat or pork including chopped stomach and other internal organs like kidneys and liver, and only the most trusted taco stands ,have cows meat ,although they found in Mexico City that a lot of people were using Horse and donkey meat ,saying it was cow.
