There is no cure for HIV/AIDS. Some people can live 10 or more years with AIDS while some people only live a couple years. Ultimately any person with AIDS will eventually die from complications caused by the virus. No one dies from AIDS itself, they die from complications and other illnesses because AIDS has severely damaged their immune system. It is a horrible way to die.

Kaposi's sarcoma, P Carnii pneumonia, AIDS related dementia, and then death.

You'll still have that when you're treated, just that you won't live a long and healthy life. All those symptoms of AIDS will happen to you within 10 years instead of the 25+ years you get on HAART.
