do you mean blood sugar level? if you do, you should take your blood sugar before you eat, as it's the more meaningful value. it's normal for your blood sugar to increase after meals, and will increase more if you ate something high in carbohydrates (i.e. sugar). the normal range for a blood sugar (before meals) is 70 to 110, but may run higher in diabetics. if you're concerned about it though, you should mention it to your primary care physician.

nO, NOT IF YOU JUST HAD HIGH CARB MEAL. hOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COME DOWN? 2 HOURS? tHREE? woops sorry for caps
anyway, May is too long to wait!!! Your health is at stake!!! Do you live in a state that has a Community Health Care service, like a Family Health Care -- run by the state, but not the State Health dept??? If so they will see you much sooner, most have good doctors and they charge on a sliding scale according to income!!! I wasted sooooooooooooooo much money on an endocrinologist, who actually made me sicker and almost caused me to end up in hospital !!! My girl-friend told me about the Family Health Center. I made appt doctor spent almost an hour with me !!!! She listened to me, got the facts, and gave me thr RIGHT MEDS (endo gave me Wrong meds even tho I told her I couldnt take that med!!!) ! Metformin and Glipizide dont work for me!!! Glipizide almost killed me and metformin was almost as bad. ACTOS was my miracle med!!! That's what has saved me thanks to Health Center doc! My appts are $19 compared to $300+ for endo 'doctor' and I use the term 'doctor' lightly in her case!!! My Family Center doc is caring and kind and helpful, endo was grumpy, acted like I was a bother to her and she didnt want to help me, wasnt friendly or nice. But it's up to you. But if the meds you get make you sick, stop them at once & change drug or docs!!! But you need to be seen ASAP !!! BEST WISHES! BE WELL!
ALSO: meds for diabetes are expensive and thru FHC you will be able to get your meds at discount !!!
