Ive heard that its a mushroom like substance they use,,,,but a far stretch calling it a mushroom. Ive heard some bad things about it.
Has any1 else heard anything one way or another about Quorn?

I think they say mushroom because it sounds better than cultivated fungus. Quorn can give some people diarrhea. Quorn products contain egg whites so they aren't suitable for vegans. If you want scary texture, try the latest fake chicken from Morningstar Farms that comes in a ziplock bag. Saute it in a frying pan and then make chicken and dumplings with it. It tastes awsome, but due to the garlic content I don't eat it. It's great for making you gassy in a garlic enhanced way. Ick. Your experience may be different.

Have never heard of Quorn products in Australia, what type of product is it? Is it like the Asian "mock meats" i can by in China Town made from gluten.

Quorn rocks! The quorn roasts are the best fake meat for a "meat and potatoes" dinner.

It's not mushroom, it is made with a type of fungus though. Some people have a sensitivity to it. If you ate it and nothing happend, you don't have that sensitivity.

I've never heard anything bad about it. Two years ago I tried the roast for Thanksgiving...taste better then the real thing!
