A vegan and vegetarian are similar to each other. However, they don't have the exact meaning.

A vegetarian does not eat meat, but they may consume some milk, eggs, cheese or honey. In addition to not eating meat, a vegan doesn't consume any animal made products whatsoever.

No! Some people think they are, but there are significant differences. For one, vegetarians consume dairy and eggs. Vegans, do not. Some vegetarians choose to use animal derivatives in everyday cleaners, clothing, etc. Vegans take it a step further and chose to eliminate all and anything animal/animal related. I'm a vegan, so if you have any questions, email me!

Yes. A vegan is a type of vegetarian. A vegan is a vegetarian who does not use or eat anything that comes from any animal. This would include avoiding wool, silk, and honey as well as milk, eggs, and cheese.

a vegan is a vegetarian to the nth degree. Not only do they not eat meat, but they don't eat anything that comes from an animal: milk, eggs, cheese. Nor do they, as I understand, wear leather, suede, fur.

In short, no animals were harmed in the making of a vegan's day.

A vegan does not eat dairy products, eggs, or any other animal product.

A vegetarian is someone living on a diet of grains, pulses, nuts, seeds, vegetables and fruits with or without the use of dairy products and eggs.

A vegetarian does not eat any meat, poultry, game, fish, shellfish or crustacea, or slaughter by-products.

So a vegan can be a vegetarian and a vegetarian can be a vegan, but not necessarily so.
