My head is hurting and I feel dizzy. I even passed out at one point and couldn't seem to "come to" for about an hour. I ate something and drank a small glass of milk, but my head still is pounding and I still feel faint. What could be my problem??

First, if you are a diabetic and have passed out for an hour, please go to your nearest hospital and call your doctor at once.
Second, you may be experiencing hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar, but I cannot accurately tell on the internet.
A physician or trained R.N. needs to properly assess your blood sugar, vital signs, and medical history, including whether you have any allergies, any medications you are taking and whether these are affecting your blood sugar, and whether someting else entirely is going on.
My first thought is that this is hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar. Your blood sugar should be between 115 and 200 to be in the acceptable range.
Try drinking a glass of orange juice, as this is sugar that is more readily absorbed than milk and "something" may not have been enough to correct the problem; but please:
*** go to the hospital before doing so, as you need immediate medical attention for this issue.
Hope you feel better soon.

My husband has has similiar symptoms at low normal glucose levels (though not passing out thank heavens). Doctor thinks it's either (1) a sudden drop in blood glucose - so it's not the level, but the change in level affecting him or (2) that even though his glucose level is normal his body is not processing glucose effectively and either his glucose sensitivity needs to be improved or he just needs to stay a bit higher than low normal.

Husband went off Prandin and upped his Metformin dosage. So far none of the low events, but his sugar is hanging in the 90-120 range (except morning fasting which can be a bit higher). This is still a little higher than we'd like and a bit higher than it was on the Prandin. On the other hand we don't miss the low sugar events. And yes, you will feel faint and head pounding for awhile after them. Test again and make sure your glucose is ok then wait a bit and see if you feel better. The fainting can be very dangerous and if you aren't feeling better, call a doctor or 911 immediately.

There is a small possibility that you are having anxiety attacks. This is a tricky diagnosis because anxiety attack symptoms can be similar to low blood sugar events.

Suggest you discuss all this with your endocrinologist.

That is very dangerous! I am 14 and have had diabetes for about 8 years. If u feel dizzy, go and check ur blood sugar level immediately and if it is below 80 go and have something sweet. if u cant get around to any coke or juice...get some candy. juice is better preffered. if u get knocked out and cant seem to get up u have to do sumthing asap....try to call someone for help.

Hi
It could be a number of things that are going on . The types of meds , the type of food are these headaches regular? Migranes , have your blood pressure checked as this could be a sign of High blood pressure . I have a friend that is also diabectic who has episodes of the symptons you just described . Worst case scenario could just be stress or the fact that you may need glasses . As my friend just found out that he needs them .

Take care
C
