I heard that if you take an HIV test and ,for example,you had a sexual relation one week before it might not show you the real result(because the HIV virus can "hide" for up to 6 months).I read that nowadays there are some advanced tests that can show you if you've been infected or not even if you had sex days before the test.Is that true?Do you know a place where I can do that in California or Illinois?

HIV takes up to six months to develop detectable amounts of virus in the blood stream. When a nurse gets a needle poke for instance, the nurse is tested immediately for a baseline, and then again in three months and six months.
There is no reliable test that will detect HIV any faster.
