No, I don't have a child with breathing issues, but I do have some ideas what may cause it. You say that it happens more in the home? Is there any smokers in the house? I suppose you've been asked that one a thousand times. Do you have pets? Possibly an allergy to dander, or if you have a cat, it could be the litter. How is your home heated? If it's electric or wood heat, there is a chance that the air is too dry. You should get a humidifier. This would probably be beneficial anyway, cuz breathing moist air is better. It could be the carpet. Some people are allergic to the fibres in carpetting. And carpets seem to attract household allergens and hold them in.

Sounds like you need to go back to the DR. ASAP!!!!
Sometimes the flu can turn into "walking pneumonia" in teens....
Not being able to breath could be a sign of something else...or it could just be the way that the flu runs its course ~ Either way if you have it checked out you'll know for sure....

the flu actually damages the airways and could be the source of the problem. But it is entirely possible that there is a new illness or problem that causing the vomiting as well.
