Glucose tolerance tests are routinely done on pregnant women at our hospital on every pregnant lady to rule this out. Is there a family history of gestational diabetes? There could be other factors causing your symptoms as well. I wish you good luck.

If you do have symptoms from gestational diabetes, they can include:

Increased thirst.
Increased urination.
Increased hunger.
Blurred vision.
Pregnancy causes most women to have to urinate more often and to feel more hungry, so having these symptoms does not always mean that a woman has gestational diabetes. It is important for pregnant women to be tested for gestational diabetes, however, because high blood sugar can cause problems for both the mother and the baby.

I had gestationl diabetes with all three of my pregnancies, but seriously do not remember having any of the symptoms you speak of except nausea. But then again that is a symptom of just being pregnant. How far along are you? Because at I believe 15-20 weeks you will automatically have a fasting blood sugar test to check for that very thing. Many women have gestational diabetes with pregnancy and with proper diet and monitoring there is usually no problem keeping it under control. I would certainly tell the midwife your symptoms as it may be something else entirely, but will prompt her to go ahead and run the tests and check everything out. The important thing to do is not worry about this because the stress from worry can have a more harmful effect on the baby than anything else. Just remember that as long as you communicate with your midwife, she should be able to set you up on a maintanence plan and nutrition plan to safely control your insulin levels as well as your weight gain and making sure the baby does not get too large. I only had to have insulin administered during labor and delivery. The rest of the pregnancy my diabetes was controlled and monitored closely with weekly visits to my midwife for blood sugar tests, fetal monitoring and nutrition plans. Take care of you and dont worry. I hope everything works out wonderfully for you.

I've been pregnate 3 times, and out of those 3 twice I had gestational diabetes. It usually goes away after you have given birth, I read a article that because I had this in my pregnacy I could develope diabetes 20 years after the first time I had it when i was pregnate. It's 24 years since then and I have not gotten it yet. Don't worry take care of yourself and watch your sugar intake.

Gestational diabetes can be diagnosed by a simple test.
It's called a Glucose Tolerance Test, if you're having those symptoms, you should go to a doctor and have this test done.
The test takes about 2 hours, and you have to be fasting to do this test, so take a good book :)

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Many common natural remedies are claimed to have blood sugar lowering properties that make them useful for people with or at high risk of diabetes. Learn here https://tr.im/XJDwb

A number of clinical studies have been carried out in recent years that show potential links between herbal therapies and improved blood glucose control, which has led to an increase in people with diabetes using these more 'natural' ingredients to help manage their condition.

i know you don't want to hear to call a Dr on less they do the sugar test you wont know if you are with this condition. In your pregnancy you should take good care of your self and the baby, "Midwife" how shes gonna know if you have gestational diabetes unless you get tested. There's no odder way to know unless you check your Keaton in your urine.Believe i know what I'm saying i went true this during my pregnancy and just recently i was diagnose with diabetes type2. So its your option you believe your "midwife" or check with a real Dr.
