checking blood pressure too often does not develop problems. but why should one do it? unless a person is hospitalized, normally once in a week is enough.

Taking your blood pressure will not lead to developing problems given:

1. the tissues have time to reperfuse (get blood back into the tissue) and the tissues is not lead into a prolonged hypoxic (without oxygen) state.

What does this mean? As long as you don't leave the BP cuff on (we actually use them as tourniques as a paramedic) you will not cause damage to the tissue.

However, if you take successive BPs (one right after another) it may SLIGHTLY effect the BP accuracy, simply because of disrupted blood flow.

I have personally had my BP taken 20 times withing a short period of time (an hour/hour and a half) in practice (you gotta get good at taking a BP somehow!) and while testing other paramedics with no ill effects.

Not really, there's people who need to do so up to two or even three times a day.
Besides, the amount of time you need to take the blood pressure is too short to cause any harm. Anyone who's used to do this can do it in less than a minute.
Also, to feel more secure, you can switch arms everytime you have to take your blood pressure; the difference on the reading is extremely small and without any importance, usually this difference can't even be noticed.

I suppose anything is possible, but this doesn't sound very likely.

The main adverse effect from taking blood pressure often is that you can psyche yourself into higher than normal blood pressure and you won't truly know to what extent you have a problem. Let a nurse or doctor take it.

Yes you can get a sore and bruised arm if you take your blood pressure in the same arm every hour on the hour. Some doctors really like to squeaze hard, lol

IS THIS A NEW FETTISH>>>>>
You cant hurt yourself by taking your blood pressue. even if you took it twenty times a day.
Simply because the cuff is designed to cause a mininal amout of stress. IF YOU WERE TYING A ROPE AROUND YOUR ARM ID SAY YES.

Their would be no physical damage to your body, but taking excessive BP readings is evidence of a psychological problem.
