There is no one specific endocrine gland. An endocrine gland is any of the glands inside your body, your adrenal gland, your thyroid, pituitary..
Exocrine glands are on the outside of your body.. like sweat glands. It seems like weight issues are usually connected to the thyroid gland, because it releases growth hormones and things related to that which tell your body when to grow, when to make fat, when to make you feel hungry..

Hope this clears some things up.

The 'Endocrine' is not a singular gland. The endocrine system is the make up of glands in your body for which all of your hormone production is responsible. This includes your pituitary (located in your brain and is primarily known for its growth hormone production), your thyroid (located in your neck, produces hormones that regulate your metabolism), your adrenal glands (located near your kidneys and responsible for regulating stress-related hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline).

Your visit to the endocrinologist will very much likely be focused on your thyroid as disorders regarding the thyroid are considerably known for causing weight changes.

If you are gaining weight and don't know why, it could be Cushing's syndrome.
If that is the case, make sure the doctor does a 24 hour urine free cortisol test not a blood test.
